bloom mama & me playcafé
Bloom Mama & Me PlayCafé is a brand new space dedicated to moms and their kids. It’s a space where play, connection, and a good cup of coffee coexist.
Amanda, the owner of Bloom, initially reached out for website design, but it quickly became clear that the brand itself needed refinement to support long-term growth.
What started as a website project evolved into a thoughtful brand upgrade— focused on legality, consistency, and elevated design— before moving into the digital experience.
branding & identity
Amanda had built a strong foundation: a logo, submark, and supporting templates created in Canva. The vision was there— but there were a few critical issues:
Trademark limitations: Canva-based logos and graphics are not exclusive or protectable
Font licensing risks: Existing fonts were not commercially sustainable
Brand consistency: Small composition issues were holding the brand back visually
The goal was not to start over, but to refine and legitimize the brand—preserving its personality while making it scalable, cohesive, and legally sound.
I began by rebuilding the logo system using fonts supported by Adobe, ensuring proper licensing and long-term usability. From there, I refined the overall composition for better balance, readability, and alignment.
To expand the brand beyond the logo, I developed a custom pattern system inspired by Bloom’s environment and offerings:
Hand-drawn illustrations of coffee (hot + iced)
Organic plant elements to reflect wellness and calm
Subtle heart icons to reinforce warmth and connection
These elements were combined into a seamless brand pattern, giving the identity more depth and versatility across print and digital applications.
I also created a streamlined brand guide, outlining logo usage, color palette and typography specifications, and brand patterns and assets.
All final files were delivered in PNG, PDF, and SVG formats to ensure the client can apply her branding to any medium.
