project spotlight
medsembly
Medsembly was a networking platform connecting students and professionals in the medical field, designed to foster mentorship, opportunities, and community. I worked with founder and CEO Rodeline Joseph as a freelance Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager to help brand (and re-brand) the platform, manage its online presence, and design the initial mobile app experience
Key Skills Demonstrated: Branding, Social Media Strategy, Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, App Prototyping, Community Engagement
social media
As the Social Media Manager, I developed the strategy, templates, and content to grow Medsembly’s online presence:
Maintained a daily posting schedule across Instagram stories (3–5 per day) and feed posts (4–7 per week).
Developed recurring content themes like Motivation Monday, Wisdom Wednesday, and daily practice questions.
Curated resources, featured students and professionals, and highlighted shadowing/career opportunities to provide value to our audience.
Executed the social media launch on November 22, 2021, after months of community engagement through stories, comments, and messaging to build rapport and trust.
The strategy built a solid follower base and laid the groundwork for future expansion, including potential TikTok content, virtual workshops, and educational podcasts.
mobile app ui design
I served as the sole designer for the initial Medsembly app experience.
Old app: Developed by the founder using Glide, with 700+ active users engaging daily through messaging and forums.
My role: Conducted user testing to inform feature design, mapped pages, created user flows, built wireframes, and designed the app from concept to prototype.
Outcome: The first native Medsembly app launched on the App Store and Google Play in April 2022, offering students and professionals a structured platform for mentorship and networking.
Working across branding, social media, and UX/UI design gave me hands-on experience running multiple facets of a product launch, from concept to community engagement.
